Alik CAVALIERE

1925 – 1998

After studying at the school of Giacomo Manzù and Marino Marini, to whom he succeeded as professor of sculpture at the Brera Academy, Alik Cavaliere played a leading role in didactics, in education and in the promotion of culture and art in Milan. He has taken part in numerous exhibitions with works of various kinds, showing himself to be an eclectic artist, capable of experimenting with collage on paper, watercolours, pastels, mixed techniques and bronze sculpture, always with successful results. He was a great experimenter, not only on a creative level, but also in the use of the most diverse and unusual materials: through the manipulation of iron, resin, bronze, aluminium, glass, crystal, ceramics, wire, fabric and more. He has always worked with commitment, also from a human and social point of view, for an art that can become a synonym for life and that takes on the responsibility of dramas, tensions and the desire to communicate and share feelings.
