ÓPLab is a new space where exhibitions, events and workshops come to life. ÓPLab is a bookshop with a café where you can linger among books and cappuccinos. ÓPLab is a multifaceted place to enhance, disseminate and share the invaluable heritage contained in ÓPLA’s artist books archive. ÓPLab is in Merano, and it’s an open space for everyone and everything to experience.

…i libri d’artista riusciti sono quelli che fanno venir voglia d’aprirli di nuovo, e che prendono i bambini sul serio mentre li divertono; quelli che cercano di avvicinare due universi particolari, quello dell’infanzia e quello dell’artista. Questo gioco, “Giocare con l’arte”, non segue alcuna regola. Si costruisce nello stesso tempo sulla serietà e la sorpresa. Sulla complicità.

Ci pare infatti di trovare una affinità e una contiguità tra gli artisti e i bambini, che ci porta a voler riflettere su una vicinanza che ha consentito di dar vita ad opere estremamente originali, opere che hanno creato un contatto positivo e l’opportunità di una “crescita” attiva nei bambini…
